Come on in, guys.
Cayambe, get your first look at the new Galán and Sabaya tribes: Holli and Ali voted to the Summit, where they will soon compete to get back in the game.
While they battle in their duel, you will begin on your next immunity challenge, so Cayambe, time to give back that beautiful immunity idol.
Once again, immunity is back up for grabs.
This round, you will be testing your teamwork by working together in pairs on a challenge we're calling Dynamic Duos.
Stephen and JT, Parvati and Amanda, Tony and Sarah, Dawn and Cochran. What do these Survivor pairs have in common? They figured out how to communicate and work well with each other in order to dominate the game. This time, it's up to you to bring the teamwork and dedication & get in sync with one another.
Each tribe will need to divide themselves up into two pairs of two and assign one team A & the other team B. Once each tribe has their pairs sorted, you'll be added to a challenge chat where you will be competing (As against Bs). Your goal is simple: with your partner, count as high as you can without being interrupted by the other teams.
Here's how it will work. At any time after the challenge begins and before the deadline, you & your partner can begin counting. You'll need to alternate messages. For example, if Gerda and Ethan are a pair, Gerda would start by typing '1' in the challenge chat, then Ethan would type '2', and so on. If you mess up in alternating or type a wrong number, you'll have to start again at 1. When you think you've gotten high enough or want to pause the challenge, one of you will type 'STOP' instead of the next number; this will save your current score until you choose to restart by saying 'START' and picking up where you left off. IN ORDER TO PREVENT UNNECESSARY STOPPAGE, IF YOU STOP COUNTING, YOU MUST WAIT AT LEAST TWENTY MINUTES BEFORE RESUMING.
In addition, your job will be made harder because at any point during your counting, another team can 'interrupt' you by typing anything that is not a number in the challenge chat as well. If it's just one person who interrupts, you can continue counting & earning points - HOWEVER, if both members of another pair interrupt you before you STOP counting, your score will be lost and you will have to start at the last place where you said 'STOP'.
Further example, if Adam & Ari are paired up against Gerda & Ethan--
GERDA: 1
ETHAN: 2
GERDA: 3
ETHAN: 4
GERDA: 5
ARI: xxxxxx
ETHAN: 6
GERDA: 7
ETHAN: 8
ADAM: According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly.
GERDA: STOP
In this example, if Gerda had said 'STOP' before Adam posted, their score would be saved at 8 points and they could come back and resume later (for instance, after Adam/Ari went to sleep), and if they were later interrupted, their starting point would be 8. However, because Adam posted before Gerda's 'STOP', they unfortunately lose all their progress and will need to start from zero.
So, to summarize: you are counting with your partner as high as you can, and trying not to get interrupted by the other teams, while also interrupting them yourselves whenever possible to prevent them from gaining points. You can stop and restart to save your score, but you must wait 20 minutes between stopping & starting. Once the challenge is over, we will tally up the total points that each pair earned for their tribe, i.e. the number that you end on. The tribe with the highest combined score by 9PM EST tomorrow, October 7th, will win immunity and be safe from the vote, while the two losing tribes will be heading back to Council.
Please choose your dynamic duos ASAP!
